NOTES : Theobald Gladstone ALLEN was born on the 21st October 1917 and was the son of Robert James and Monica Johanna Allen (nee Galvin) of Dunrobin, Toobeah. He was the eldest of seven children. Prior to his enlistment as a Private on 18th July 1940, Theobald had been working as a station overseer.

It was not long before he started to receive promotions and eventually Theobald was awarded the rank of Lieutenant. His service was carried out in Australia. From 16 July 1943 until the 24 January 1944, he was stationed in the Northern Territory.

In August 1944, Theobald suffered a dislocated left shoulder. He retired from the Army on the 9th October 1945.

In 1954 he was listed in the Australian Pastoral Directories as living at Venture Downs, Toobeah with 93 head of cattle and 4933 sheep.

By 1963 he and his wife Margaret Mary were listed on the Electoral Roll as living at Wilga, Goondiwindi.
