NOTES : Gordon was the son of Charles Edward and Ada Priscilla Brunckhorst of Palmerin Street, Warwick. He was a motor mechanic at Warwick and he also served with the 11th Infantry prior to his enlistment in 1916.

Upon his return to Australia, Gordon married Eleanor “Nell” Redgwell at St Mark’s Church in Warwick on January 1st, 1920. From around 1940 Gordon worked at the Warwick Club, where he became Chief Steward. When his father became ill, he and his daughter Nellie, moved in with Gordon and Nell, and Nellie continued to live with her brother and his family after her father’s death. Gordon remained at the club until his retirement.

Gordon, Nell and Nellie all worked as volunteers for the Red Cross. Gordon received an award for 20 years’ service and Nell had a memorial plaque and native tree planted in Apex Park, Warwick, in recognition of 50 years of dedicated service to the Red Cross. Nell was also in the Mother’s Union at St Mark’s Anglican Church, Warwick, for 54 years.
