NOTES :

Thomas and his brother Robert Alexander Burgess 1161 enlisted in the First World War together on the same day in Brisbane.

Thomas was the son of Thomas and Mary Burgess of Elbow Valley via Warwick.

While fighting in Palestine, Thomas received a gunshot wound to the ankle. Upon his return to Australia, Thomas married Myrtle Pullen on September 5, 1923 at St Mark’s Church, Warwick.
