NOTES : William Charles Cadman was born in Ipswich, England. At the time of his enlistment in November 1915, he was married to Ada Florence Cadman and had three daughters, Alexandra, Margaret Louisa and Elsmere. Forty-year-old William lived at Yelarbon and at the time he worked as a shoeing smith in the district.

He embarked at Brisbane aboard HMAT A49 Seang Choonon 19 September 1916 and disembarked at Durban, South Africa. William was struck off strength and admitted to Salisbury Island Hospital for four days suffering from colitis on 24 October 1916. William reboarded the Seang Choon and sailed the Plymouth, England arriving in December 1916.

His service was undertaken in England before his return to Australia aboard NZHT 82 Pakeha. He was discharged at Brisbane on 28 November 1917.
