NOTES : Russell was educated at Warwick State High School. He also served as a Leading Aircraftman in RAAF Headquarters during WWII. His parents were George Elliott and Margaret Emily Dix and his wife was Isabelle Barbara Dix (nee Gibson). Their son Garnet Elliott Dix B/3197 also served during WWII with the Royal Australian Navy.
