NOTES :

Henry Richard Dyer was born in Wiltshire, England and later travelled to Australia with the family.

His widowed father, William Henry Dyer 10887 enlisted in Warwick on 11 January 1916, one month prior to Henry. Henry listed his sister, Mrs Elizabeth Hunt of Kurumbul as his next of kin.

Henry set sail aboard HMAT A46 Clan Macgillivary from Brisbane on 7 September 1916 as a member of the 26th Battalion.

William Henry Dyer returned to Australia and was discharged 23 May 1917.

Henry returned to Australia aboard the Balmoral Castle after having been severely wounded in action, suffering gunshot wounds to the abdomen, leg and nose. He was returned to Australia on 1 February 1918 and discharged from the Army on 3 May 1918.

On ANZAC Day 1921, Henry and his friend Edward Carr 2339 whose mother owned the Toobeah Hotel, were groomsmen at the wedding of Thomas Thompson 799 and Elizabeth Moore. Henry married Blanche Strofield in 1921.
