NOTES :

John Fallon was born on June 9, 1888 to parents, Patrick and Catherine Fallon of Dalveen. John and two of his brothers joined the AIF during the First World War. They were Michael Joseph Fallon 5385 and Stephen Fallon 61.

John was living at Rosenthal and working as a labourer at the time of his enlistment. Embarking for Egypt, he disembarked in Alexandra on May 5, 1916.

On September 23, 1916 he proceeded overseas to France. After suffering from a prolonged bout of bronchitis, the medical authorities transported John to England for treatment in February 1917. John returned to Australia in 1918.
