NOTES :

William was the son of John James and Lillie Elizabeth Ann Gaffney of Mt Tabor. On 30th April 1928 he married Margaret Eileen O’Dempsey. His father died in 1940 and in March 1942 William enlisted in the army.

While he was stationed there, his mother passed away. Wiliam was discharged on 25th September 1945.

A newspaper article shows while he was working for the railway, a man stole a blanket belonging to William and the court ordered the man to pay compensation. William and Margaret moved to Brisbane and were living there at the time of his death in December 1965.
