NOTES :  Collingwood Grieve was born in Warwick circa. 1886. At the time of his enlistment his mother Mary Jane Errol was living at Glenhurst, Yelarbon and he was earning his living as a farmer.

With the war raging overseas, Collingwood elected to enlist while at sea aboard the SS Hawkesbay as part of the 7th reinforcements 11th Light Horse Regiment. According to his service record, he marched into camp at Heliopolis and then saw service at Tel-el-Kebir, Ferdan, Palestine, Kantara, Abbassia, Moascar and Port Said.

A communication from Base Records dated 29 November 1917 informed his family that Collingwood had been admitted to the 44th Stationary Hospital, Egypt on the 15 November 1917, suffering from a mild bomb wound to the neck.

Upon his return to Australia, Collingwood disembarked from the Norvada on 30 August 1919 and was discharged from service on 29 October 1919.

In 1920 Collingwood married Janet Elizabeth McColl and they had one son.
