NOTES :  Maurice Murray Jobson, known as Murray, was a maternal first cousin of Ronald and Herbert Cameron. He was born in Balranald, New South Wales. As of approximately 1914, he was living in Yelarbon; he gave his address at enlistment as Wondalli – the home of his aunt Elizabeth Cameron, although his next-of-kin at enlistment was his mother, Emily Jobson, who was living in Melbourne.

He enlisted in Brisbane on 3 December, 1915. He was 28 years old, single, and gave his occupation as settler/selector. He was 5 ft. 8 inches tall, and weighed 136 lbs (62kg). His complexion was noted as dark, and he had brown eyes and black hair.

Murray served with the 2nd Light Horse Regiment, joining with the 18th Reinforcements on 17 April, 1916, while the unit was stationed in Egypt. On 8 August, 1916 he was punished for being unshaven on parade.

He was present at the Battle of Beersheba on 31 October, 1917, and the third battle of Gaza, on 1-2 November, which were part of the 1st Light Horse Brigades Sinai and Palestine Campaign. He was awarded the rank of Temporary Driver on 4 November, 1917. On 23 October 1918, he was admitted to hospital with malaria.

Following the Armistice, Murray embarked for home on 18 March, 1919, arriving in Australia on 22 April. He was discharged from service on 21 June, 1919.

Following the war, Murray returned to Victoria, and became a butcher with his older brother. He died on 17 August, 1966.
