NOTES : Thomas Oldfield was known as “Tommy”. He was the son of John William and Norah Jane Oldfield (nee McIntyre) of Guy Street, Warwick.

His education was received at Warwick Central State School and Warwick State High School before going to Brisbane to Teachers Training College.

Upon receiving his qualification, he was employed as a Commercial teacher at his old high school in Warwick before being transferred to Stanthorpe State High School.

Tommy was a keen athlete and football player. He married his sweetheart Kathleen Mary Clifford in Brisbane on August 15, 1940.

He enlisted on June 28, 1942 and attended Officers Training school and received his commission (Lieutenant) after his arrival in Malaya. He was shot and killed while on patrol.
