NOTES : Robert’s father was George Wesley Pittendrigh who served in WWI as a Chaplin and his mother was Janet Anne Pittendrigh.
He was a student at the Warwick State High School.
Robert’s plane was on a flight to Burma when it was reported as being overdue. A search was undertaken with no results.
The fate of the six crew would not be ascertained and their bodies were never recovered. They were all presumed dead.
