NOTES : Allan was the son of Harry Newey and Sarah Ann Slaughter (nee Hartshorn).

He enrolled at Warwick State High School on February 2, 1931 and was a valued member of the hockey team.

Allan married Agnes Bowman Thorburn at Kirkclady, Fife, Scotland in 1943.

He was accidentally killed in a plane crash while serving in an experimental squadron at the time of his death.

Allan is mistakenly recorded as SLAUGHTER, AR on the Thulimbah Roll of Honour. It should have read SLAUGHTER, AJ.
