NOTES : John’s brother Hector Reginald Wickham 414114 was Killed in Action during the Second World War.
Their parents were Walter Watson and Florence Ethel Wickham of Greymare, Queensland.
While John was at Slade School he served as a cadet in the 11th Light Horse Militia. After his discharge from the Army on January 7, 1943, he became a member of the Reserves.
Other members of his family to serve in the Australian Defence Force were Gilbert Percy Wickham 3752 WWI and Q226793 WWII, Hector Reginald Wickham 414114 Killed in Action, Charles Robert Wickham Q226794 and Edwin Charles Wickham 1203032.
