Support

There are a number of ways you can help support the Southern Downs Military History website.

THE PROCESS – What we do

  • Identify a veteran and creating a file for that person
  • Researching primary sources for information about their service
  • Researching secondary sources for information about their lives
  • Conducting interviews with family members where possible
  • Searching newspapers, books and local history documents
  • Compiling data into a suitable format
  • Sending file to the web master to be uploaded onto the site
  • Inserting all links
  • Undertaking SEO work to complete the process

FUNDING – What you could do

Funding for the SDMH website can be DONATED here – Amounts over $2 (tax deductable).
$300 – allows us to fully fund a veteran’s record and have it uploaded within 21 days.

Smaller donations – Smaller donations are always welcome and once enough funding has been sourced, we will continue to add more and more profile pages of our veterans to the SDMH.au website. DONATE today.

VOLUNTARY ASSISTANCE – What you could do

Individuals will be able to help on a voluntary basis in the form of researching, sourcing or taking photographs, finding and transcribing Trove newspaper articles, collecting stories through oral histories or recollections from family members. Many other small tasks need to be undertaken, be it on a “one off” basis, or over a period of time at your own pace. To learn more please contact us.
