NOTES :

Charles James Doyle was born at Dalveen to Daniel Doyle and Margaret Doyle nee Donovan. At the time of his enlistment in the First World War he listed his mother Margaret Doyle of Deuchar as his next of kin. Charles was working as a drover and enlisted in Warwick on May 9, 1916. His brothers Cornelius James Doyle 5069 and David Doyle 2305 also enlisted in the AIF.

He sailed aboard the Boonah to Plymouth in England before proceeding to France. At the end of the war, he remained in England before he returned to Australia aboard the Borda on December 9, 1919. Charles was discharged on March 19, 1920.

In May 1940, Charles was working as an orchardist at Stanthorpe when he enlisted for the Second World War. However, after completing his medical examination, he was deemed unfit for service and discharged on June 16, 1940.
