NOTES :

Darrell Vivian Moss was born at Toogong, New South Wales on June 14, 1884. George Saville and Caroline Elizabeth Moss (nee Bullock) were his parents. The family moved to Queensland at the turn of the century and lived for a time at Maryland, Dalveen and Stanthorpe.

Hilda Jane Bamberry married Darrell on November 10, 1915 just before he left for overseas service in France. Two of his brothers also enlisted for service during the First World War. George Augustus Herbert Moss and Herbert Saville Moss 40 who served in France.

In April 1918, Darrell suffered a gun shot wound to the left shoulder and back and was shipped to England for treatment. At the end of the war he sailed back to Australia aboard the City of Exter and received his discharged April 23, 1919.
